My first try at some CU Flowers and more Thank You's!

Wow, I am blown away by all of the positive comments made by my friends here in the cyber world! Honestly, I never expected such an overwhelming response to my freebies but it is very exciting for me! I have been spotlighted on CU Freebies Only twice, my blog is up to #30 on the top 50 list and I have been nominated for some special blog awards! I mentioned earlier that Edna nominated me for a briliante web blog and yesterday Tishia did too! Thanks again ladies! I also wanted to thank my friend Mozz at Forever More Creations for an "I love your blog" award. She really is the best at sending her readers my way, she is so creative and makes the most lovely quickpages and layouts. And she gives me credit when it is really not required. Thank YOU sweetie! (and yep, I linked you but the chain ends here girlfriend! - lol)

Finally, Laura at Kittenkaaboodles has awarded me with the first ever Generous Designer Award! That's pretty darn cool! I will get all of the blinkies posted on my blog, hopefully tomorrow. I need to do some updating and housekeeping on my blog layout too!

I think I'm going to recycle bin the whole sweet treats idea. I made a couple of elements and just can't get motivated to do much else with them. Especially since I had so much fun with my camera yesterday at the ball game! I always take a million pictures of my family and our events but never really thought to take some pictures of things to share. The overlays from the ball game were a real hit! So when I was at Wally World today I bought a couple of silk flowers and a table lamp and when I came home I cut up a cardboard box and taped tissue paper around it to make a cheap "lightbox" for some macro shots. I had a ball taking pictures of golf balls, food items I found in my fridge, my DH's model airplanes... lol. And yes I photographed those silly silk flowers. The "carnation" ended up looking more like a pom pon by the time I was done extracting it but the rose turned out okay. Please be gentle, I have read on that reveal blog how brutal people are about "stray pixels" and "jaggies". But I'm not selling these, I'm giving them away. So if they are jaggy or pixxy - toss them! LOL. And then I sat down with PSE for awhile and made a couple of digital flowers to share too. There are 4 flowers in this set in .png format, the colored flowers and drop shadows are for preview purposes only. Let me know what you think, these are my first flowers and I am open for suggestions and critique!

Thanks for sharing. Looks great in the previews lol!! A tip for finding stray pixels is to apply a big old embossing bevel effect. It makes those pixels jump out. Then, remember where it was, click undo, and go rub that spot with the magic eraser!! Repeat as needed :)

Thank you, I think you are right, the rose looks really, really nice! And the others are fine, too, you are being hard on yourself. I like what you said, if something is not your style, well, you don't have to use it. But I love seeing how you learn all these new things, it gives me hope for my "relationship" with my PS program!
