Tag Action #2 - You choose the background paper!

For today's freebie I tweaked my tag action from yesterday and created an action that will allow you to choose a background paper from your directory to place as the "paper" in your tag. For my PSE readers, I hope you were able to figure out how to install, run yesterday's tag actions in your version of PSE. Evidently I needed to provide .psd thumbs in addition to the .png thumbs. Hopefully you will have all you need in today's .zip without having to go through the extra steps of creating .psd files and extra folders. I have included some very sketchy instructions on how to install the actions in PSE5 and PSE6. The digi-goddess and my hero, Hummie - has some very detailed instructions on installing, clearing caches, deleting metadata files, etc. in every version of PSE and operating system available. If you have problems installing or running these actions or yesterday's actions please visit her site HUMMIES WORLD and you will see a link on the right side of her home page that says: Installing Plug-ins in Photoshop Elements. Click on that link and under the word Actions there is a button that looks like this:

TutorialButtonW If you click on this button a very informative tutorial in .pdf will open up and you can learn all you ever needed to know on how to install layer styles, actions, etc. Leave her some love and tell her I sent ya!

Here's the preview and links to today's tag action:

Update: 10/19 - I grouped the 4 tag actions (two papered actions and two colored actions) into one set for PSE7 Guided Edit Users and for the convenience of PS users. You can download the grouped 4 action tag set HERE

Thanks so much! Hopefully I'll be able to get this to work on PSE on my Mac.

Me again - I could not get this to work with PSE3 for Mac, but it's great with PSE4 for Mac!

I did have to edit the PSD thumbs. The layer within the thumb PSD has to be named with the name of the action file (minus the .atn part). Otherwise running the action tries to find a file named "Layer 0.atn". :)

Thank you for all your cu stuff. You are amazing. I am having a problem with the tag action. When it is done, it brings up a window with the option to "stop". Since it is he ONLY option I hit stop and my PSE6 program stops responding and it closes down. Can you help me with this? lauriesscraps(at)live.com

Thank you so much for doing this! I had download a free .psd tag somewhere else and I couldn't for the life of me get the background to change. This will be SO much easier. Thanks again.
