Crud, I forgot to add this to my earlier post and forgot to post it tonight too but am editing my post to add it. I've actually been meaning to post about these great web apps for weeks now and playing with Brandy's plaid patterns reminded me to do so. Forgive me if you all have used and heard of this before but there are two FREE online pattern generators that I just LOVE. The first one is Tartan Maker. You can input three colors and adjust the yarns and yarn sizes and if you want a horizontal or diagonal pattern. When you have everything set the way you want it, press "Make It" and the program makes your plaid tile. You then can download the tile and make it into a pattern with whatever program you use. The tile is downloaded in .png form. Here's one I made in 5 seconds:
And here's what a paper would look like when you tile the pattern. It took me about 15 seconds to make the tile into a pattern and fill a 3600 x 3600 layer with the pattern.
Cool?? And they have a sister site, called Stripe Generator. The concept is the same, you enter the color for your stripe and color or gradient for your background and generate your stripe tile. You can also add a shadow to your stripes which is adjustable too. Definitely check out these sites if you are looking for some simple patterns for your next set of papers!
