Well I finally ventured into my CS3 Illustrator program that has been sitting dormant on my computer since I bought the Suite earlier this year. I was pretty intimidated by it, it doesn't "act" like Photoshop although it does have a lot of the same tools. I have at least three books on the program that I haven't bothered to read, including Adobe's Classroom in a Book that was pretty pricey. I read a couple of tutorials online today and thought I'd give it a try. Today's freebie is a set of swirl type border shapes that I created in Illustrator and then saved as eps files and then opened in CS3 where I made custom shapes from them. They are kind of doodily (not a word, I know) and definitely not perfect! I think I am going to like Illustrator, especially when I figure out what all the slick buttons do! I need to take a week off and just work on learning Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro. Ok, maybe I need to take several weeks off! LOL. Anyway, I saved all these shapes in png form plenty large for those of you who cannot use the custom shape file. The borders are 12" wide so you can drop them in your layouts or kits without any resolution loss.
Thanks to all who had such kind comments about my award. My readers are the BEST! You don't know how rewarding it is to read each and every one of them! Here's the preview and download links for today's freebie, not all the shapes are shown in the preview.

Added them to the stash..Thank you! .... And good luck with Illustrator, et al... I was sort of thrown into it at work one day.. Talk about baptism by fire! ;)
doodily (not a word, I know) ... it is now!!! I love your doodilies!!! Thank you for sharing your talents!! Cheers, Barb in Australia
These swirls are great! Thank you so much for sharing them.
Thank you! Your blog post will be advertised on the DigiFree Digital Scrapbooking Freebie search engine today (look for timestamp: 08 Dec [LA 09:00pm] - 09 Dec [NY 12:00am, UK 05:00am, OZ 04:00pm] ).
I LOVE your DOOLIES too Deb!!! Just added the word to my vocabulary, thank you very much!!!
I, like you, well up until now for you, have not yet delved into Illustrator, InDesign or any of the other goodies in the suite. I DO, however, need to familiarize myself with Dreamweaver fairly soon!
Two weeks, eh? Hmmm, I would SO love to take two weeks to just sit here and explore! Thinking .... he, he ...
THANK YOU!
Hugs,
Linda :)
Love the doodilies - and not only a freebie I am adding to my vocab as well. Many thanks from steamy Brisbane, Australa.
Great shapes, thanks a bunch. You sure are talented.
Wow, Deb! These are great! You inspire me so much to try new things with PSE 6, which sat on my computer for almost a year just because I didn't want to reinstall all my actions, shapes, and styles (which did take quite a while, once I got started)! I finally have started making a few of my own papers and elements! And I'm going to treat myself to CS4 as soon as I get my income tax money this year, so maybe I can learn half as much as you! LOL!! By the way, I forgot to congratulate you on the new award yesterday...CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Thank you! Keep playing! We are reaping the rewards!!
Once again another coup! You do such wonderful work! Thanks a billion!!!
Thanks so much!
Maybe that's what I need to do, take two weeks off and explore CS4!
Nah, I'd still probably be lost! These are terrific as always, thanks so much for sharing!
Hugs,
Vicki in Texas
I have those same programs sitting here idle, too. You inspire me to play around with them. Now if there was just more time in the day! Thanks for sharing your work!
Those look like they're going to be SO much fun!
Thanks so much!

Thank you for these!
First of all I want to say that I LOVE EVERYTHING you do! I check your blog every morning. I have a question... Do you offer any tutorials? I love designing my self, but I am unfortunately horrible at it... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Amanda
Deb,
These swirlys are great. I can already see textures and fabrics on them! Thank you for creating things that are so unique!

Thank you so much!
WOW - thank you sooo much for all of your wonderful actions, png's etc.
You'll love CS3 once you get the hang of it. I played with a trial version and wished I could afford to buy it once I got used to what everything could do. It does what PSP used to do with so much more included. Thanks for your doodles. I'll have to take the time to play with them later.
HOOORAY that you are learning Illustrator---we reap HUGE rewards from all your creativity. Thank you so much---these are FAB!
Love your swirly borders! I've never played with Illustrator although I do have it installed. I know I can't compete with your talent though. Thank you!
Great shapes, thank you.
Thank you so much for these awesome shape borders!
These will be fun to use - thank you:)
You sound like me, I have several newer versions of PSP, PS7 installed and all I ever play with is my old PSP9. I keep telling myself I have to learn PS so I can learn how to use actions and styles, oh well there is always next year...LOL Thanks for the goodies.
Thank you so much for this Freebie. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in Creative Busy Hands Digital Freebies Search List, under the Elements Only post. Thanks again.
These look great and thank you for including the .pngs for those of us who don't have PS
Deb, thank you so much for all your recent freebies! I may not comment very often, but please let me tell you how much I appreciate all you do for us. :)
