My First Font! Messy Paintstrokes CU Font

Yay me! I played around with Illustrator and Scanahand today and came up with a font set that I call Messy Paintstrokes. It is far from perfect but it was really much easier than one might think. I also found a great online site called YourFonts that looks like it is based on the same idea as Scanahand and is FREE. You can upload a template of your handwriting and the software creates a font of your handwriting. I haven't tried it so I don't know how well it works but if any of you have tried it I would love to hear what you think of it! Please note, this is a font, not an alpha, and you install it to use in your word processing, photo editing, software. We are off to St. Louis tomorrow for the MVC Basketball Tournament but I'll have the laptop for the long 3 hour ride down so maybe I will come up with something else to post this weekend. We will be pretty busy so keep your fingers crossed!

That looks AWESOME!!!

I'm always game for fonts! Those look perfect for those pre-school class LO's with all of that messy paint!

(Except for when Connor comes home with a big 3" spot on his pants and says "Mommy, guess what this is... today we had hot dogs and I chose chili, that's what this is")

I'll head on over to that site as soon as cd's are burned for the librarian who asked for them a week ago.. seriously, where is time going?

Thanks for the font, I can't wait to use it!

I have used the yourfonts website and it worked fine. The first time I used my font and was annoyed that my letters weren't very straight. Centering isn't my strong point. Then I realized I could pull my scanned template into my editing software. I cut and pasted and straightened and erased little pieces. I was much more satisfied after I loaded that version.

This is fabulous, I've been looking for a painted look font and got sick of trawling through all my files and here you came up trumps for me AGAIN. I swear you must be a mind reader.

Thank you so very, very much for your generosity!

Oh, dear, Deb! You are in deep trouble now...fonts are ALMOST as addictive as brushes. And you've gotten started...these are way cool and I love 'em! I can't wait to see more! Have a great trip and be safe.

Love this one - I am a total font addict, and there comes a time you just need an "in your face, bright as a button" type of font. This one is absolutely charming, and I know I'll enjoy using it. Thank you so much.

Oh, I love this. I actually created my print and cursive fonts. It works pretty well and even better as you said it is FREE.

You really need to write/print your letters, etc. in the area they provide or they do not line up well when you try to use them for text or the top or bottom will be cut off.

Other then that I had fun trying it out and have used my print font several times.

Thank you again and hugs!

I wanted to thank you for sharing the link to the online handwriting font creator. I was laboriously scanning in images of my handwriting. This is much easier.
