CU OK Felt Flowers

Here’s another dollar store find. These little felt flowers were attached to elastics for hair ponytails but I thought they may be useful for scrapping too! I found several more goodies too that I will be posting in the near future.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that we had a traumatic experience at the dollar store yesterday. My little one wanted to spend her $3 and had it in her purse. Somehow one of the dollars ended up in her pocket and the other two ended up in someone else’s pocket.  I was looking at the craft items and she was wandering around the toys and must have laid the other two dollars down. Well, there was lots of drama and a lesson learned for the 5 year old that you don’t leave money lying around at the dollar store! While it was very upsetting to her and to me, it did get me out of there earlier because it took her an hour to decide how she wanted to spend that 1 dollar!  I compensated her for the stolen $2 AFTER we left the store, and advised that from now on, I would be holding her money until it was time to check out!

Anyway, here’s the freebie. I left them in their original colors but feel free to recolor as needed!

Oh not your pour little girl. I hope she learned her lesson, but my heart goes out to her. It is never easy to learn that kind of lessons, so big hugs to her.

Hi Deb

I feel so bad for your little one..but maybe it is a lesson she will never forget.....I just wanted to say thank you for telling us about Online Storage.I was using mosy for 4.95 a month...however if I deleted them off my computer then Mosey deleted them out of my account...dumb huh...OLS lets me put up whatever and then allows me to delete from my puter.. I have 1600 gigs of pictures and scrap book stuff and need some room..so OSL...works for ma nad you can't beat the 19.95 a year.....hugs to you...

Aw, poor darling! That's a tough lesson for a five year old. I know you had to be hurting inside for her. It makes sense that it took an hour to choose after that! She wanted to get her money's worth. lol

Absolutely loving your dollar store finds, as always. Thank you so much for sharing your work with all us other fellow scrappers who don't have cool equips (or dollar store finds... lol).

Thank you so much for sharing your finds. Sorry to hear about your daughter's distress, $2 would have been a large amount for her but as you say she will hopefully now be more careful. Hard way to learn though isn't it.

Smart move on handling the little one and her money. It could have been so easy to just give her the $2 in the store and then she wouldn't have learned anything. It can be so hard to find the balance on teaching our children the facts of life. Oh yes, thanks for the flowers, love your dollar store finds and your ingenuity with them.

Oh! Poor Baby...How sad a lesson to learn - but you're right...perhaps it will be a good lesson so that she doesn't lose more than two dollars in the future. Those are the times when it's tough to be a parent cuz you hurt so much for your children. Sounds like you did a good job though, waiting until she was finished purchasing her final dollar item before reimbursing her loss.

As always, I'm amazed with the treasures you offer us. Thank you so much for these gifts...they are truly appreciated. I can't tell you how glad I am that I bought your commercial license!!! The goodies I receive from you are awesome~ THANK YOU...
