ADSD Sugar Shoppe Collab!

Wow, I've been so busy I almost forgot that it's October 1st already, time to post my portion of the ADSD October Collab! The theme this month was Sugar Shoppe and the colors are pretty bright. I am not thrilled with my part but there are some gorgeous kits available, just follow the blog train! The list is huge - but no need to download everything today... everyone's posts will be available all month. I have some add-ons for my kit too that I will post as soon as I finish the TOU's, etc. I have some style sets and an Alpha done, so check back in a few days for those!

There are some ladies who made very nice QPs with my portion and other's kits also so keep an eye out for them! I will figure out how to post the code on the side so that you can come here all month to grab everyone's links but again.... I'm tired! So for now, here's the blogroll - happy hunting! UGH, it's a day later and I'm looking at my post from a different computer and the previews are hideous! I may have to redo the previews so if you check in later and think it is a different, MORE ATTRACTIVE kit, don't wory - it is the same one...

PaperDoll Halloween Costumes!

Yeah Bears! We had so much fun tailgating and watching the game, especially since the Bears won! The 2.5 hour ride home was not so much fun, we were pooped when we rolled in at 1 am.

I know I did some Halloween stuff earlier but I figured I should dress up the dolls in some costumes. There are some random Halloween costumes in this set, and a witch's broom and trick or treat bag. It's all in one big download with each costume in .psd and .png form. Click on the picture for a blown-up view. I finally figured out how to do that! Yeah me!

PaperDoll Football Player and Cheerleader!

As you read this I will be on the way to Chicago to watch DaBears play DH's Eagles. We are going up with some friends and are tailgating beforehand. Sounds like fun, I hope the Bears win! So to celebrate the big game, I made a Football player and Cheerleader outfit for your dolls! The samples are included, as well as greyscaled layered .psds for each and the .png parts for the outfits. Color them to match your favorite teams!

Kikkin Kreations Christmas Best Paper Doll Add-ons!

Wendy from KikkinKreations sent me a preview of this adorable set of Christmas clothes she made for the paper dolls. Aren't they gorgeous! Head over to KikkinKreations to snag this cute set!

Angela's Goodnight Teddy Paper Dolls!

Angela has made a cute set of paper doll kids who are all ready for bed! Don't you love their little slippers? Awww, so precious, thanks for the adorable set Angela! Go over to her blog Toucan Scraps to grab these little sweeties!

CU Transparent Lace Styles and Overlays!

I had a little time this morning before everyone woke up to play with some Filter Forge filters. I created a lace style set for Photoshop. The lace is on a transparent background so you just apply it to your colored element or paper and the background color (in the preview I chose red) will show through. Cool? I also have made a set of .png overlays for my non PS users so you can use them too. The overlays are full size, 12" x 12" but then I realized I should have just made 1" tiles so you could save disk space. Sorry! In the style set I included the transparent .PAT file also that I used to create the styles. I hope you have some use for them! I will upload to Filesavr later today, if you have a problem with the 4shared link, I need to take DD to a birthday party in a few minutes!

Here are the CU Baby Paperdolls!

Finally! I have finished the baby and can get to the fun stuff, making the outfits! When I do the outfits, should I leave them in greyscale layers or color and flatten them? Hmmmm. I included in this zip a list of face dingbats. I don't know why I didn't think to use dingbats on the "adult" dolls. I have so much trouble with faces and there are tons out there that I could have used for them! There are also some Photoshop brushes with faces also, if I compile a list I'll post it here on my blog. Anywhoo, enjoy the babies and look for some outfits soon!

Clearing out the memory card with some leftover CU Flowers!

I gotta run and pick up my son at football practice but I thought I would jump on and get these posted. I'll get some more paperdoll stuff posted later! These flowers were still on my memory card and I decided to go ahead and extract them before I deleted the photos! I hope you can use them!

Update: 11pm and I'm pooped. Guess I lied about having more paperdoll stuff done tonight. I spent most of the evening trying to get the baby right. Got him done but he's naked and faceless right now! I'll work on it some more tomorrow, gotta get some shuteye!

The Paper Doll CU Starter Set!

Well I worked all evening on this and although the "models" turned out okay, the faces were giving me fits. I always have a hard time with the faces! But I have TONS of ideas for clothes and themed outfits, hairstyles, shoes, and accessories! So here's the deal, in this .zip are the 5 models with varying skin tones and a handful of faces, hairstyles, and clothing sets. Enough to get you started anyway. I am also going to do a baby, hopefully tomorrow. These models are created at 300dpi and are 6" tall. There are no layered .psds in this zip, they are all .pngs for now. I think when I get to creating "themes" I will distribute in .psd and the individual .pngs. For instance, I want to do a football player and cheerleader and would just put the whole "outfit" together in a layered file for each of them. Anyway, here's a preview of what you get in the .zip and then some examples of how they can look when you put them together (samples not included).

I included information in the TOU on how you can participate in an ongoing, informal collab. You don't need to notify me if you intend on participating, just send me an email with your link and preview when you get your "parts" posted and I'll add them to my blog post. Sound like fun?

CU Space Templates!

Wow, so many of you are supportive of the paper doll idea I think I am going to run with it! And what I think would be cool also is if some of you creative designers would like to create "add-ons" like different outfits and hairstyles, etc. and we could link each other for all the parts, etc. It could be a huge paper doll collab! What do you think? I am going to work on the dolll "models" tomorrow.... but tonight I had to do a little something for my buddy Connor who Lauren states is into spaceships these days. There are 4 simple templates in this set, a rocket, spaceship, alien, and robot. I also included a full size (3600 x 3600) of the starry background paper I used for the previews here. It's a big file since all the templates are in the one zip. Here's the previews:

Photoshop Old Paper Styles .asl file

For my second post of the night I am offering a Photoshop Old Paper style set, created in CS3. There's a crossword puzzle, word find puzzle, old newspaper, and plain paper in three different styles. One of the plain paper styles looks like it has a burned border. I thought they turned out kinda cool. Remember to scale the effects if your element is smaller - you will want to scale the pattern smaller. Enjoy!

CU TeddyBear Layered Template

Today I made a little teddy bear layered template. I used my frayed fabric brushes and stitches brushes in creating him. I have had lots of suggestions for new themes: boys stuff, outer space things, toys, baby stuff, quilts (I'm not sure what that means - please email me with examples lwlittlebit). So I will be busy for awhile working on these ideas. I would also like to work on some new layer styles and brushes for Photoshop when I have time. I am also toying with an idea to make digital "paper dolls" layered templates. I could make new outfits for the dolls with different themes (like a police officer! lol). I could make lots of different faces, hairstyles, to put on the dolls. And maybe you could print them out and cut them out for the kiddies to play with. What do you think??

Hey Hey Whatta You Say? Cubs PU MiniKit

I finished my little kit to celebrate the Cubbies clinching the NL Central! This will be perfect for scrapping all your World Series photos! (LOL, I know I'm getting ahead of myself!). Personal use only for this one! Enjoy!

CU Mouse Layered Template

Here's a little Word Art to celebrate the Cubbies clinching the division. YAY!!!! I used this awesome FREE online java program Wordle to create it. It is so much fun, I could play with it for hours! I am working on a little Cubs mini kit too that I hope to have up later tonight. But I wanted to get my newest template posted. It's a simple little mouse. Pretty Cute? I am not sure what theme my next template set is going to be but I am open to suggestions if my loyal readers have any requests!

More Digital Bows

I found a cool FREE filter surfing around yesterday called SineDots II. I played around with it all evening and created some digital bows using this filter and Mura's Copies, Encircle filter. The bows are pretty big, about 8" on average and all grey ready for you to recolor. Six in all, hope you like them!

CU Frayed Fabric Directional Brushes for Photoshop!

I am really jazzed about my new brush set. I was inspired by Gunhild Storeide who recently offered a frayed fabric template freebie. It is very cool, you can put your photo, patterned paper, etc. on the fabric and play with your blend modes to get the look you want. Soooo, I went to the craft store and found the cheapest scrap of fabric I could find that looked like it would fray real easily. I cut a few peices and frayed them and photographed them:

Then I extracted the fabric scraps from the background and recolored them black. I then created a brush preset from them and adjusted the settings to make them dynamic and to make it look like your paint strokes were frayed fabric. Here's a few examples of how they can be used:
One of the brushes that I used to stroke a path around a star shape

Star shape that I stroked a brush path around edge and applied one of my denim layer styles to

Same procedure as above with different brush in this set

Another brush that I used to border my page with denim layer style applied

Cool? I usually don't like to toot my own horn but I do think they turned out pretty slick. Again, I recommend placing your brush strokes on their own layer so you can easily apply layer styles or drop shadows, etc. to them. And I am not neglecting my non PS readers, I am working on an Ocean Pals template that I hope to have up tonight. Check in later! NOTE: I am having ISSUES with blogger today. It doesn't show that this post was posted yesterday but obviously it was. It is showing my bows that I posted today being posted yesterday. I keep getting ERROR when trying to post, Autosave is failing..... I know that a lot of you saw this post yesterday because there were downloads. However, DIGIfree did not pick me up on this or the shark template. I don't get it. UGH! And when I try to edit this post, the preview picture and links are not in it, so I have to go and add them again.... Ok, I just cleared my cache and deleted my cookies and it seems that autosave is working now... Here's the preview and links:

CU Shark layered template!

As promised, here's the second post of the night, a shark layered template. I think this will do it for Ocean Pals. Now I need to figure out what to do next! LOL. I always have a bunch of ideas, but getting them from my brain to CS3 is sometimes the problem! I bought a "Bowdabra" the other day and planned to make some bows to photograph but it doesn't seem to work as well as the picture on the box! I just need some practice I guess. Anyway, here's the shark and unless there are any more requests this will be the last Ocean Pal.

CU Paintstroke Photoshop Custom Shape Set

Yay! My first CSH set for Photoshop! Once I finally figured out how to do them it was easy! I imported the .pngs that I created in Artrage for my painstroke brush set and made them into custom shapes! It's a tiny little file but soooo versatile! I love custom shapes because you can resize as HUGE or small as you want without loss of quality. These can be used as masks for your photos too. They should work in PSE and your version of Photoshop (I hope!)

CU Stingray Layered Template

I need to get the lasagna made and in the oven so this is going to be a quickie post. I am also planning on posting a set of Photoshop Custom Shapes made with my paintstroke .pngs from an earlier post. Here's a little stingray I made for you today.

A little CU Sea Turtle Layered Template

Wow, I have a killer headache and didn't think I would get this guy done but I finally did as I watch the Cubbies lose. Bummer. If they could have swept Milwaukee this week they would have clinched the division. But it looks like it will take a few more days to do that. Oh well, anyway... I am glad so many have downloaded my stitch brushes and are excited to play with them! Thanks for the wonderful comments! And I have only one person say they had a problem with the filesavr link. So I will try it for awhile.

CU Directional Stitches Photoshop Brush Set!

For my second post of the night I am offering my first brush set created with CS3. I offered several brush sets that I created in PSE but the awesome thing about Photoshop is that I can create directional brushes! This means that when you draw or "paint" with your brush, the tip will follow the direction of your mouse. Very cool! And they will work in PSE too! (tested in PSE6 only.) I made a few stitches as my first brush set. You can adjust the settings for the spacing, angle, roundness, etc. of each brush to create dozens of different looks with this simple set! I tried to make it appear that some of the stitches had "holes" under them. Here's an example of how some of the stitches look when I stroked a path around a flower shape with the brushes:

I recommend placing the stitching on it's own layer in your document. Then you can add layer styles (drop shadows or bevels, etc) to the stitches. You can also change the size jitter to get "messy stitches" that are not all the same size. I love playing with brushes, they are so versatile and so adjustable! I hope you like this set as much as I do! Here's the preview and download links; if you missed my earlier post, I'm trying a new file sharing host to see if it is more convenient and/or faster. The nice thing is there is no advertising or timer for you to wait on to download. However, you cannot post comments on File Savr so I don't know if I am going to like it. If you try the File Savr link, please let me know how it works for you!

CU Whale Layered Template!!

I'm winding down on the Ocean Pals templates. I think I have a shark to do yet, maybe a stingray and sea turtle. Today's template is a little whale. I also have been playing with a brush set and should have that up tonight too if I get the TOU, preview, etc. done in time. I am trying a new hosting service too, called File Savr. Choose which link to download from and let me know via comment here on my blog if you like it (if you try it). If it is faster, slower, etc. There is not an option to leave comments on FileSavr so I don't know if I am going to stick with it but I thought I would try it out. Let me know! Thanks!

Here's a CU fishbowl for your creatures!

I realize that a normal fishbowl would not hold most of the ocean pals that I have created so far but again Lauren suggested one so here it is! The .zip includes the individual .pngs and a .psd that includes the bowl, water, and gravel. You can add the seaweed, shells, or other creatures as you see fit!

Yay! Big Z throws no-hitter and I finished some CU Fishies!

Wow, so exciting!! Cubbies win! Carlos Zambrano throws a NO HITTER! And I finished some little fishies to add to your collection. I'm getting them knocked out and only a couple more Ocean Pals on my list to do and it will be time for me to move on to something else! I put up a new poll for you to help me focus on what you really would like to see more of from me. Please vote so I can have some direction!

CU Dolphin Layered Template

I had several requests for a dolphin and I am not especially happy with this one but maybe you can add your own touches to him to make him more presentable!

Here's my little CU Seahorse

I finally finished my little Seahorse that was giving me fits. He turned out cute but I just don't like the mouth. I always have a problem with the mouths for some reason. I actually think he looks cuter without it so you can leave it off, it certainly won't insult me! It looks like I am in for the day because all it is going to do is rain.... so I will plop my butt down in front of the TV and watch the Bears and Cubs, and try to knock out some fishies with the laptop! Check in later for another possible Ocean Pals template!

CU Digital Bows

I played around a little more in CS3 and created a set of digital bows that you are welcome to grab and add your own touches to!

CU Octopus Layered Template!

I had some time to work on another Ocean Pals template. Today's template is a little octopus. He needs something, something on his head I think but I was tired of messing with him.

CU Folded Flowers

Tonight's freebie is something a little different. I had an idea to make some digital flowers that look like they have been made from folded paper. I was inspired by an item in a traditional scrapbook catalog that I received in the mail the other day. I must be on a million scrapbook mailing lists because I get so much mail related to scrapbooking. Which is fine but I have never paper scrapped in my life. Here is a photo of what I was trying to achieve:

You can buy these paper punches for $35 to make a folded paper flower. Or, you can just download my freebies if you want the digital alternative! I created a folded paper overlay using Filter Forge filters and placed the overlay over some basic shapes (hearts, ovals, circles, etc). I duplicated the basic shapes using Mura's copies filter (encircle) and then added drop shadows, rotated and duplicated layers, etc. to obtain the look of some folded paper flowers. There are 8 grey flowers in this set for you to add your favorite color, pattern or background paper to! You like em? Let me know!

CU BOW COLLECTION

I hope that all my American readers took some time today to remember our fallen heroes on the anniversary of 9-11. It does not seem like it was 7 years ago today that our country was attacked by cowards and so many innocent people lost their lives and so many more were changed forever by their loss. Please remember them today of all days and also remember our brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces who are fighting the good fight to preserve our freedom.

Today's freebie is a set of bows that I photographed and extracted. Most are hair bows from my daughter's collection. She has so many but refuses to wear them! They are all desaturated and ready for you to recolor!

CU Lobster (crawdaddy?) Layered Template!

Well, we flew all the way down to St. Louis to watch those dumb Cubs lose in the bottom of the 9th. Made me sick to my stomach to watch it live and in person. Luckily the Brewers don't want to win the division either or we'd be in real trouble. Hopefully we will get a win tonight, my "W" flag is gathering dust in my closet. LOL.

Today's post is dedicated to Lauren (Connor's Mommy!) who requested a lobster template. I was planning on making a lobster anyway, but since she asked so nicely (and said pretty please), I decided to to him next. I hope you all survived the storms down there Lauren and are drying out! Hug Connor for me and enjoy your lobster! (mmmm, making me hungry) Which reminds me, I need to get supper on the table. I may get something else posted tonight if I have time.
