CU OK “Boo Boo” Elements

Well I started out with the idea of offering some bandaids to use as adhesives on your layouts and then thought I would add some more “supplies” to the collection. There’s a set of “ouchy” bandaids that I put some red food coloring on to look like they were “used” and some clean ones, plus a medical chart, pill bottle, and other miscellaneous items. Here’s a layout I made today:

CU OK Crepe Paper Styles for PS/PSE and seamless image tile

Today’s freebie is a set of colored crepe paper layer styles for Photoshop/PSE and the seamless greyscale image tile I used to create them for those who cannot use the .asl file. How they look applied to some simple layered shapes:

CU OK Transparent Tape Brush for Photoshop/PSE and individual PNGS

Since I did the masking tape freebies a couple of weeks ago I’ve been trying to figure out how to make transparent tape. I came up with a set of PS brushes that look pretty realistic I think. There are “clean” tape brushes and a coordinating “grungy” brush (shown in the preview). I separated the downloads because the .zip was pretty large so if you can’t use the .ABR, download the png files.  Definitely play with the opacity and blend modes to make it look realistic!

CU OK Luggage Tag Template

Today’s freebie has me thinking about my upcoming Spring Break vacation! I photographed a luggage tag and then chopped it up into a layered template. The tag, “plastic”, buckle and paper all all on separate layers for you to customize! Use it for journaling or you can type your “destination” on the paper.  Enjoy! CU OK Vintage Photo Folders

Today’s freebie is a set of two vintage photo folders that I purchased recently from ebay. They had photos in them so I extracted the photos and removed the studio name, as well as some handwriting identifying the person that was written on the folder. I purchased a bunch more of these vintage/antique photos but it may take some time to get them posted. I will probably post a few at a time.

How do  you like the Online Storage Solution link I posted for the Tape downloads yesterday? I really like it except for one thing, there is no way to comment or know how many downloads there are if that link is used. But I think in light of the problems with 4shared and the comments from those of you who had issues with the popups I am not going to upload to 4shared for awhile. I would hate to think that someone received a trojan from one of my freebies! So if you try the OSS link, try to leave me a comment and tell me how it worked for you!

CU OK Masking Tape Pieces

Today’s freebie is a set of 23 pieces of masking tape that I scanned and extracted, saved in individual .pngs.

On another note, I had received a couple of emails about issues with 4shared and a virus that is going around there. I hadn’t had a problem with it until tonight when I was checking some links and there was a popup saying that my computer was infected and wanted me to “scan” for viruses. Then another popup that looked exactly like an official Windows notice that my computer may be infected. When I clicked the red X (of course I didn’t want to scan my computer, I have McAfee Antivirus, thank you) the window asked if I was sure? Yep, sure! I closed the popups and scanned with McAfee to be sure and yes I am virus free. Shame on 4shared for allowing such stupid popup ads (scams). So I’m wondering if those who clicked on the button to “scan” did receive a virus or if they thought they had a virus because of the popup. Needless to say, please, please, please don’t fall for the popup ads. If you have a good antivirus program it will catch any “bugs” you might get while surfing and downloading. Scan regularly and make sure your antivirus is up to date! Also, BACKUP your stuffs! I have heard great things about Mozy but haven’t actually tried them. I have an external hard drive that I save all my important files to and sync it regularly. Anyway, here’s the freebie preview and DL links.

A new URL and CU OK Vintage Spools

I was reading through “blogger buzz” the other day and came across a topic that explained how to change your blogspot.com url to a custom domain. It seemed pretty easy, just register for a new domain name ($10 a year) and Blogger pretty much takes care of the rest. I always thought it was a hassle to type in my whole url when registering on forums etc and thought that www.scrappincop.com would be so much easier! So, since that domain name was available I decided to go for it. Blogger will still point the blogspot links to the new url but for some reason when it does, the “Friend Feed” didn’t work. Also, the Linked Within posts are messed up too but hopefully will sort themselves out in a few  days. Soooooo, you may want to update your links to the new url although the old Blogspot links should still point to www.scrappincop.com. I’m not sure if the freebie finding websites like Digifree will still find me though. We’ll find out soon since I have a new freebie today!

Today’s freebie is a set of vintage thread spools that I found recently at my local antique shop. Not sure if they will be useful to anyone but you can arrange several of the tops as a border or string some ribbons, etc between them on your layouts.

Today’s freebie is a set of big safety pins that I twisted with some pliers and photographed/extracted. They are GIANT. Many of them are almost 12” wide and would make a cool hanger for your layout title or a picture. Or you can add some of my beads to them too. They are pretty versatile and very unique I think!

CU OK Stained Overlays

For the second blog freebie today I made a set of Stained Overlays using my brushes and some textured papers. Included in the zip are 5 stained overlays and 5 plain overlays that you can play with (not shown). Just picture the 5 overlays without the stains all over them and that’s what is included as well as the stained ones for a total of 10 overlays.
