CU OK Rock Tile Styles and pngs

Well they aren’t very pretty but there are some cool textures included in this set of layer styles and seamless .pngs.  One of my favorite places to eat has these amazing tiles on the walls and floors.  When we went the other night I just happened to have my camera and snapped a bunch of pictures (in the bathroom – luckily no one came in while I was doing this! LOL).  I posted a set of the original pics on my Deviant Art account (see graphic on the right of the blog for the link) and when I have time I’ll post the rest of them.

The downloads are huge so I split them up.  One has just the style set for Photoshop/PSE and the other has the individual seamless png files.  I would also recommend adding a “chisel” bevel to your element to make it look more like rock, for example:

CU OK Metal ID Tags

Today’s freebie is a set of ID tags and a Photoshop/PSE style set for “embossing” your name, title, etc. on the tag.  Of course if you don’t have PS/PSE you can still use the tags! These are pretty big; the preview depicts how large they are on a 3600 x 3600 document. 

I had a question about how to install an .asl file in PSE 8. I’m not really sure but I would imagine it is the same as in PSE7. Once again, Hummie has the most thorough instructions on installing plug-ins for PSE.  Also, please, if you have a question for me, it is much easier to answer an email. Many times when I follow a link on a comment or question left on my blog, there is no blog or email listed and there is no way to answer you.  I try to answer questions but if I can’t track you down it is very difficult.  Thanks!

CU OK Bookplates .csh and pngs plus Examples!

Today’s freebie is a set of bookplate shapes in a Photoshop .csh file and individual pngs for the non-PS/PSE users.  I also included the examples that I created while I was playing around with them.

CU OK Stamped Alphas .abr and pngs

Today’s freebie took entirely too long to make considering my alphas/fonts are never that popular.  I found these stamps in the bargain bin and stamped each letter on a piece of paper then scanned it. I selected each letter and made a Photoshop brush out of it.  I included an .abr set of the two alphas shown and png sheet of the alphas. The .pngs are partially transparent to give them the real “stamped” look. You may want to duplicate the layers/brushes to make them darker.  Also, of course – play with the blend modes! Each letter/brush is about 1”

CU OK Round Clipboard .psd and pngs

Today’s freebie is a little round clipboard I found in the bargain bin while shopping at Mall of America! I extracted the clip from the clipboard so that you can place a paper under it if you like or you can place the clip on a different element if you like.

CU OK Hotel Deco Overlays

Well we made it back from our trip to Minnesota and the Mall of America! I found lots of goodies that I will be working on for the next several posts! At the hotel we stayed at for the past 4 nights they had the most amazing patterned carpet and furniture that I had to photograph them for overlays.  Here’s what the original pics looked like:

CU OK Acrylic Paint Stroke Overlays

Well, nothing too original today. Lately I’ve been feeling it’s all “been done” before and am having a tough time coming up with new ideas for freebies.  Today’s freebie is a set of overlays that I used by combining some white, grey, and black acrylic paint and scanning into CS3 for overlays.  The pink background in the preview was made using “vivid light” as a blend mode over a pink fill layer.

CU OK Dollar Store Frames

Another freebie from my recent dollar store trip! I found these frames and thought they were cute and would be fun for your layouts. You can recolor them and you can hang a tag from the twirly parts or use them as “clips”.  Then I brought them home and noticed how janky (cheap) they were. What do you expect for a dollar? But they really needed more work than I thought. See what I mean:

Notice how crooked the frames were inside the squares and the frames themselves were bent and warped. So I just extracted them completely. Here’s what I did as an example with one of the finished frames.

CU OK Felt Flowers

Here’s another dollar store find. These little felt flowers were attached to elastics for hair ponytails but I thought they may be useful for scrapping too! I found several more goodies too that I will be posting in the near future. 

If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that we had a traumatic experience at the dollar store yesterday. My little one wanted to spend her $3 and had it in her purse. Somehow one of the dollars ended up in her pocket and the other two ended up in someone else’s pocket.  I was looking at the craft items and she was wandering around the toys and must have laid the other two dollars down. Well, there was lots of drama and a lesson learned for the 5 year old that you don’t leave money lying around at the dollar store! While it was very upsetting to her and to me, it did get me out of there earlier because it took her an hour to decide how she wanted to spend that 1 dollar!  I compensated her for the stolen $2 AFTER we left the store, and advised that from now on, I would be holding her money until it was time to check out!

Anyway, here’s the freebie. I left them in their original colors but feel free to recolor as needed!

CU OK Paint Overlays

Today’s freebie is another dollar store find! They had these little wired embellishments for a buck each so I bought these three and photographed and extracted them. Then I made a template for the flower element so you can put pictures inside it – like this:

CU OK Vrooom Doodles .csh and pngs!

I’ve been working (off and on) on these doodles for what seems like ages! They are very time consuming to make because well, I can’t draw. Illustrator helps, because I can move the anchor points to make the lines look how I want but I’m never happy with them. Thus they are called “doodles”. I would also like to do a set of tractors, construction equipment doodles and will eventually finish them. There is a .csh file for Photoshop/PSE and individual png files. Customize however you like! Here’s an example of a taxi that I finished in just a few minutes with some layer styles:

CU OK St. Patty Styles and Seamless Image Tiles

Well, I tried to post this really quick before I went to work last night but for some reason the OSS links aren’t working! None of them are! I don’t know what to think. I have sent an email to support so hopefully I’ll hear something soon regarding this issue. In the meantime I have uploaded this style set to filesavr and 4shared. There are 28 different styles and seamless image tiles (600 x 600) which include several patterns and glitters in St. Patty’s Day colors!

CU OK Abstract Circle .csh for PS/PSE and pngs
